Special Feature
  • Multiple Arms:Durga is often depicted with multiple arms, each holding a different weapon or symbolic object gifted by various gods. These weapons include a trident (trishul), sword, bow and arrow, mace (gada), and conch shell. These weapons symbolize her ability to fight evil and protect her devotees.
  • Lion/Tiger Mount:Durga is typically shown riding a lion or tiger, signifying courage, strength, and her mastery over wild forces. The mount is often depicted in a fierce posture, emphasizing its role as a protector.
  • Crown and Ornaments:A golden crown adorns her head, representing her supreme authority. She is also adorned with elaborate jewelry, highlighting her divine and royal status.
  • Gaze:The eyes of the idol are a focal point, often depicted with precision to convey both fierceness and compassion. The gaze is believed to be a reflection of her omniscient nature and her ability to perceive all.
  • Clay Sculpture:Durga statues are traditionally made from clay, often mixed with mud from the Ganga river and soil from outside a prostitute's home. This practice is rooted in the belief that the clay is infused with the goddess's energy.
  • Artistic Detail:The craftsmanship of Durga idols is highly valued, with artists putting great effort into capturing the intensity and symbolism of the deity.
Packaging Information

To ensure your art and craft orders arrive safely while maintaining sustainability, a **three-layer packaging system** is ideal. The **first layer** involves wrapping each item in protective materials like biodegradable bubble wrap, tissue paper, or recycled paper cushioning to prevent scratches and movement. The **second layer** stabilizes the package with dividers, corrugated inserts, or kraft paper padding to keep items from shifting during transit. Finally, the **third layer** consists of a durable outer box or water-resistant mailer, sealed with eco-friendly paper tape and reinforced corners for maximum protection against handling and weather. This method not only safeguards delicate materials but also aligns with eco-conscious values by using recyclable, compostable, or plant-based materials. For an extra touch, consider adding seed paper thank-you cards or soy-ink labels to enhance the unboxing experience while minimizing environmental impact.

The 12-inch brass Mahishasurmardini statue I ordered has stunning detailing—especially the fierce expression and the dynamic pose of Durga slaying Mahishasura. The metal has a nice antique finish, but the trident arrived slightly bent. Seller provided a partial refund. Overall, great for daily puja!
